The Adults with autism and intellectual disabilities take part in the programme. All of them live in one of the group homes of the association. This Good Pratice is adaptable to other social circumstances as well. The creation of basic and social skills is done among the given circumstances and so these trainings can be supplemented by the vocational trainings.
Justificação e Objectivos
The Objectives were:
• providing the appropriate quality of life to the young people who live in the group home on a long term basis;
• forming such circumstances concerning personal and material conditions, by which they can take part in value-creating activities in their workplace;
• corresponding the rehabilitational services of the workplace with the needs of the individual.
Aspectos Chave
The main elements of the model are:
• general development of basic social skills;
• vocational trainings (should be divided into partial activities and scopes of activities).
Metodologia
The development methodology was:
Step 1: Training
• market analysis;
• assessment of individual skills;
• trainings aiming at basic skills;
• individual training and ‘success-orientation’.
Step 2: Employment
• competency needs of the scopes of activities to be defined;
• trainings in order to reach the above mentioned competencies;
• it is important to define what kind of supplementary services an individual has to use. These activities must be stated in their individual development
plan (e.g.: special gymnastics, etc.);
• creating career plans;
• creating opportunities for placements.
1/ Results / outputs
• keeping 10 persons ‘active’ (working) continuously and therefore helping
them avoid unemployment;
• becoming an adult training institution;
• applying a standardized quality assurance system to all activities.
2/ Continuity
• staying in touch with every NGO in the area (geographically) and also
with other professionals nation-wide;
• having discussions with the partner organization on a regular basis;
• exchanging experiences: it is very important to be able to receive others’
experiences;
• dissemination of the results (presentations, publications, etc.);
• organizing trainings in this topic.

1/ Key success factors for applying the GP
R.1.1.: It is very important to know the needs existing in the market
place and also the abilities of the person;
R.1.2.: It is necessary to involve the individual in decision-making processes;
R.1.3.: the unity of the development of basic skills and the knowledge
concerning the work processes and work place has to be emphasised;
R.1.4.: the vocational trainings can be organized on this basis;
R.1.5.: staying in touch with the employers is very important;
R.1.6.: follow-up of the participants;
R.1.7.: organizing a permeable system: the person can be taken from the
work place and then placed somewhere else again.
